Teen Saints
In August, 2002, my ministry was in early stage and I had just 8 boys.
The oldest boy D ( 13 years ) was a trouble maker and often got into fights.
The youngest boy J ( 7 years ) had a mouth and his size made him look older than he was.
One Sunday afternoon after church and lunch, I had taken the boys to the Katherine Ross Park in Mansfield.
I tried keep them all together but J had run off.
I took the other boys to the van in the parking lot and left D in charge while I went off looking for J.
J had let his mouth get him into trouble and he was almost about to get into a fight with 3 older boys when I found and rescued him and his mouth.
While I was gone, an older boy came to our van in the parking lot and started a fight with D.
Before I got back to the van with J, 3 other older teen Christian boys on bicycles had seen the problem and intervened, stopping the fight before it got too bad.
Those 3 boys were lecturing D and the others when I showed up…. I thanked them very much for their mature and Christian behavior.
Before I could get their names and contact information, all three rode off… to this day, I do not know their names. I am certain I will meet them in Heaven and once again get the chance to thank them.
Those 3 older Christian boys made an impression on my 8 boys… an impression I hope they never forget.
